Riichiro Inagaki, TMS/8PAN, Anime Trending

An anime series that talks about science and cultivation of lands or rebuilding civilization from scratch. It started in the first season that people in the Earth turned into stones, some die, and some don’t include our genius protagonist named Senku. After millions of years of being a stone, when he became finally free, he decided to use his knowledge to rebuild civilization. But just like in any other series, there will always be obstacles, and this is how the war will start. The other side does not want civilization, which is directly against Senku’s goal.

Season 2 of the Dr. Stone anime series will premiere in January 2021, but a more specific release date is yet to be announced.

Riichiro Inagaki, TSM/8PAN, Scoop Byte

While many of us predicted a 2021 release for Season 2, not many of us would have thought it could premiere so early in the year, but we won’t complain.

Dr. Stone’s Season 1 released in the optimal Saturday morning slot on Crunchyroll. While right now, we don’t know the exact premiere date for Season 2, we can guess that it will be on a Saturday, meaning either the 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, or 30th.

Riichiro Inagaki, TMS/8PAN, HITC

In line with this, Dr. Stone is well-known most likely to those people who are into scientific kinds of stuff. The first season of Dr. Stone was a blast from the animation, production—but also the storyline. It is exciting in every episode the fun also is that you’ll be able to learn something from a source of entertainment without getting bored because Dr. Stone also has humor in it.

The Millionaire Detective Balance: Unlimited (Spoiler-free edition)

The Millionaire Detective Balance: Unlimited is an ongoing anime series that first aired on April 9, 2020. It is directed by Tomohiko Itō and produced by CloverWorks. Like many other series, it has been interrupted by the current COVID-19 pandemic. However, programming has resumed as of July 16, 2020. As of this writing, there are a total of 5 episodes with the latest one, If Money be not thy Servant, it will be thy Master having aired on August 13, 2020. The series is officially available on YouTube thanks to the Ani-One channel.

The third and latest trailer (Credits to AniplexUS)

The series revolves around Daisuke Kanbe, a man who quite literally has unlimited balance. He has been appointed as inspector of the Metropolitan Police Detective Division. The other members of the force, mainly Haru Kato do not like the way Daisuke handles things. The main one being how he does not follow the traditional way—opting to buy information and solving everything with money. He believes that, there’s no problem you can’t solve with a few billion in the bank. At the end of all three trailers, Daisuke says, “So, how much do you need?” or some other variation referencing how his wealth is virtually unlimited.

Screenshot from the second trailer (Credits to AniplexUS)

The dynamic between Daisuke and Kato is an interesting one, with differing philosophies when it comes to doing their jobs. Kato is a firm believer in justice and does things the old-fashioned way, which makes it clear as to why he does not agree with Daisuke’s ways. Daisuke, on the other hand, appears to think that everything can be solved with money, from buying information to outright buying cars instead of commandeering them. One may assume that he has other motives. I, for one, am looking forward to how their relationship will change throughout the story as this series is a promising one.

Like the third trailer says:

DETECTIVES-BUT THEY’RE NOT ALWAYS RIGHTEOUS.

Quite possibly the greatest way of commandeering a vehicle. (Credits to AniplexUS)

Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time – The Last Film (Rebuild of Evangelion)

Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time is the fourth and last film in the Rebuild of Evangelion film arrangement. It was initially to be released alongside 3.0 as one film, yet will currently be released independently. The melodic image title could either signify “End Repeat,” or essentially “End” if the colon is a piece of the title.

Hideaki Anno, Studio Khara, Letterboxd

It is a forthcoming Japanese energized sci-fi movie composed and chief directed by Hideaki Anno and produced by Studio Khara.

Initially expected for release in 2015, the film was inconclusively deferred because of Anno’s association with the 2016 film Shin Godzilla. Production continued after the creation of Shin Godzilla finished in late 2016. The film was initially planned for release on June 27, 2020, however, has been postponed because of worries over the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hideaki Anno, Studio Khara, Comic Book

The film was declared close by Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo as the last piece of the Rebuild quadruplicate under the working title Evangelion: Final. Following the grieved creation of the third movie, chief and maker Hideaki Anno capitulated to sorrow and expressed freely in 2015 that he was unable to chip away at another film.

Be that as it may, Toho (which will co-appropriate the movie in Japan with Toei) moved toward him in a proposal to coordinate a reboot of its notable Godzilla film arrangement named Shin Godzilla, which Anno accused of postponing him on taking a shot at 3.0+1.0 despite its critical achievement. After a conventional conciliatory sentiment, activity chief Takeshi Honda expressed that the last film had continued turn of events and work on it was in progress. The studio tweeted on April 5, 2017 that the film’s improvement was going easily.

Hideaki Anno, Studio Khara, Twitter

On July 6, 2019, Studio Khara screened the initial ten minutes of the film on Japan Expo in Paris, Anime Expo in Los Angeles and CCG Expo 2019 in Shanghai.

HOW STUDIO GHIBLI INFLUENCED WALT DISNEY STUDIOS’ FILMS

Both Walt Disney Studios and Studio Ghibli are well known for giving us lots of memories filled with wonder and amazement. With amazing animations such as The Lion King, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Castle in the Sky, and more. What is interesting is that even though Walt Disney Studios and Studio Ghibli are from different regions (North America and Japan, respectively). Both seem to have similar styles when it comes to storytelling. Both studios have partnered up at one point.

Castle in the Sky – Studio Ghibli (1986)

Studio Ghibli Films have been an influence on Disney’s works. One notable example is with Castle in the Sky from 1986, which was stated to have influenced a few films from Disney and Pixar, namely 2001’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire, 2008’s WALL-E and 2009’s Up. Studio Ghibli’s Spirited Away (2001) and Howl’s Moving Castle (2004) have inspired the recent 2019 Disney film, Coco. Disney themselves have even paid homage to Studio Ghibli in their Japanese trailer for 2016’s Moana. Giving it that Hayao Miyazaki feels.

Spirited Away – Studio Ghibli (2001)

It was not all smooth sailing, however. Cultural differences and business decisions have ultimately caused a bittersweet end to their partnership. Despite Hayao Miyazaki’s request to not alter the films in any way whatsoever (Miyazaki even threatened them with a samurai sword and a note)—Disney still went ahead and edited the films without Studio Ghibli’s permission. One of such films is 1997’s Princess Mononoke, Harvey Weinstein (Previous head of Miramax) wanted to alter the film to make it more marketable for Western audiences. Disney decided to edit 1998’s Kiki’s Delivery Service. One of the most noticeable changes in the Disney redistribution is the addition of music, sound effects, and dialogue, which have garnered mixed reactions from the viewer—some consider it a nice touch. While; others claim that the film is now ruined.

Kiki’s Delivery Service – Studio Ghibli (1998)

All in all, I feel like Disney should have given Studio Ghibli the respect they deserve. 7.8/10 “Too much editing” – IGN (not)

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, fans are wondering if the final season will be premiered by this year. Hajime Isayama, VideoTapeNews

The first three series of Attack on Titan was first directed by Tetsuro Araki under Wit Studios.

But the series is changing studios because Wit Studios are having a hard time to keep the animation quality of the series, and other animes. It is also the reason why the second season of the series took four years after the release of its first season. Also, the animation studio is small that they can’t handle such a list of anime. That’s why the MAPPA Studios will be the one to work on the series. They will be working with some Wit Studios members.

Hajime Isayama, Chikyuji Animes

The series was set in a world where humanities lived in a city surrounded by a 50-meter wall that protects them from a man-eating giant called Titans. The story follows as Eren Jaeger vows to protect humanity, and retake the world from Titans after they destroyed the city and devoured Eren’s mother.

A look at Otaku Culture and exploring what it is

You may have heard the term ‘Otaku’ being thrown around now and then. And one would assume that this refers to a fan of anime and manga. However, ‘Otaku’ is a very broad term. An ‘Otaku’ is a ‘fan’ of something, a person who is a big fan of pop culture—be it a series, hobby, or something else entirely.

An example of ‘Cosplay Otaku’ Credits to Fatima Antipolo Otaku Society (FAOS)

Therefore, there are several types of Otaku. (1) A person who likes Anime or Manga is known as an Anime / Manga Otaku, (2) a person who likes to dress up as one of the characters is referred to as a Cosplay Otaku and (3) a person who likes to collect figurines of said characters is known as a Figure Otaku. There are many more classifications of Otaku, but these three are the most notable ones. Otaku ‘Culture’ is just that, being more or less obsessed with Japanese Pop Culture, whether it is about Anime, Manga, Games, Figures, or Idols.

An example of ‘Gaming Otaku’ Credits to Fatima Antipolo Otaku Society (FAOS)

Otaku Culture was not as widespread as it is today; however, the term Otaku was used as a derogatory term for an obsessive fan of something. Think of it as the Japanese term for a “nerd.” It did start getting popular in recent years, even spreading internationally, specifically the West. Nowadays, ‘Otaku’ is less of an insult and more of an umbrella term used to describe a fan of something. People now use the term, “Weaboo” when referring to an Anime or Manga fan, more specifically the kinds of fans that are so obsessed that they confuse reality with fiction. Interestingly, the origins of the term “Weaboo” have no relation to Japanese Culture at all, but that is a topic for another time. Funnily enough, “Weaboo” is mostly used by the fans themselves, using it to mock both themselves and fellow Weaboos.

A ‘Figure Otaku’ is not limited to simply collecting figures, stickers can do as well. Credits to Fatima Antipolo Otaku Society (FAOS)

One must remember to do not let others dictate what you can and cannot like. Do the things that you enjoy—your hobbies are your own. Live your own life.

Remember, people die if they are killed. And lunchtime is for lunch.

Manga as Literature

ONE, One Punch Man

Manga is a Japanese comic book illustrated by various authors. It is stories that have a plot in it, consists of sketch or drawings to express the product. Moreover, the manga itself is famous not just in Japan, but it also struck different countries due to its popular potential in the book industry such as “One Piece” written by Eiichiro Oda.Other Japanese manga artists well known for other astounding work: Naruto series, Dragon ball series, etc.

On the other hand, literature is a written product with text or words in it to convey the story line. It uses phrases and sentences to create a defining piece of art.

Go! Go! Nihon

The talks about Manga being literature have been all around the globe since the early release of Mangas or Japanese comic books. Many people have said that, Manga is not literature because it is not purely words to interpret the plot armor and the context. It has drawings and pictures for the readers not to envision the physical characters and settings for the explanation that it has appeared to the item itself.

Io Sakisaka, Ao Haru Ride

Some said that Manga is writing, basically because it expresses a story with the utilization of words as well as realistic outline or visual expressions to assist the readers with envisioning the book appropriately. Hence, Manga has a lot of fans since it is a Japanese version of comic books just like Stan Lee’s Marvel Comics.

Comic books are a combination of static images and words that represents the literature, they can be seen in both secondary categories just like Manga but comic books are considered literature. Manga can be literature since it expresses the story line through exchanging dialogues that consist of text and words as it symbolizes the world of literature.

Hiro Mashima, Fairy Tail

To summarize it, we as a whole have alternate points of view if Manga can be viewed as writing a few boards. Simply, as the image appeared beneath has pictures; however, the following board can have exchanges in it. It is irregular, and it just likes the season it changes.

However, Manga has been always a good and refined product of entertainment for that it has world-building, and sometimes it tackles issues that are currently happening in reality. Just like in literature, that has a realistic presentation of the world and people itself.

Yasuhisa Hara, Kingdom

There’s no question of how Manga affects people whether it is literature or not. It is an outcome of the author’s wild imagination using graphical illustrations and words to describe the whole context.
